Privacy Policy
Volanos Inc. ("Volanos", "we", "us") is a growth firm based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. This policy explains what personal information we collect through volanos.ca, why we collect it, and how you can reach us about it. We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
What we collect
Information you give us. When you use the contact form or email us, we receive what you send: typically your name, company, work email, phone number and your message.
Information collected automatically. Our site uses HubSpot, which sets cookies and records technical data such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you visit and how you arrived here. If you later fill in the form, HubSpot can connect that browsing activity to your contact record.
The site loads fonts from Google Fonts. When your browser requests those files, Google receives your IP address. See Google's privacy policy for how it handles that data.
How we use it
- To reply to you and assess whether we are a fit to work together
- To keep a record of our conversations in our CRM (HubSpot)
- To understand how the site is used and improve it
- To send you commercial messages, only where you have given consent or where Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation otherwise allows it. Every such message includes a way to unsubscribe.
We do not sell personal information.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers to run the site and the business. They process data on our behalf and are bound to protect it:
- HubSpot: CRM, forms and site analytics
- Netlify: website hosting
- Google Workspace: email and documents
Some of these providers store data in the United States. That means your information may be subject to the laws of that country. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
Cookies
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work, though HubSpot will no longer link your visits together. HubSpot's own policy describes the cookies it sets.
How long we keep it
We keep contact information for as long as we have an active relationship or a reasonable expectation of one, and afterwards only as long as the law requires. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, withdraw your consent to how we use it, or ask us to delete it. Write to hello@volanos.ca and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Security
We protect personal information with reasonable technical and organizational measures, including encrypted connections, access controls and reputable providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
This site is for businesses and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.
Changes
When we update this policy, we change the effective date at the top of this page. Material changes will be noted here.
